Repurchasing Sai

X.x My SAI trial license is up. I was in the middle of doing a piece but now I have to wait to purchase SAI. It may take some time until I post another image.

Finished Painting My First Chibi - Chibi Yum Yum

Finally got some inspiration and started on my first chibi character. I am pretty happy with it. I tried keeping the painting aspect simple and less blending of the colors. I like the way it contrasts with the background. I very much enjoyed attempting the chibi style and plan on doing it more often.

Thinking

Lately I've been trying to come with an idea for my next art piece. I'm kind of having an artist's block. Any ideas or suggestions. I know I want to work with drawing a character, but I want to be able to put the character in a background the suits them with good perspective. I've been researching for some reference material but no ideas yet. :(

Finished Painting

Just finished a painting that mainly focuses on the character and less on the background. I originally started the image with a fence for balance but I decided that after 3 days of work. without the fence looks better. This is my second image made on Sai. I can't wait to get Photoshop up and running on the computer I'm using. I would love to do my painting on SAI and finishing with Photoshop. I'm feeling pretty good today.

Relaxing and Working on Lineart

I'm just sitting at home and working on my next image while I watch Good Eats. I love this show. I've been working on anatomy and inking. Hopefully working with some tutorials will help me with that.

Just Started Working with Sai.

So I just started working with Sai. Normally I have been working in Photoshop but I have heard and seen amazing results with Sai so I had to try it. After several hours of messing with my tablet preferences I finally got it to work the way I want it to. It is a really cool and versatile program. I can't wait to post my first work with it. I have to thank everyone on deviant art's Improvement Center and Kikish for their tutorials. They really helped out. :)

Relaxed working on some art

I started focusing a lot more on Manga Illustration with the different styles. I'm currently working on a more realistic but still manga illustrated images. I think they are really cool. Trying to come up with ideas of images that tell a story. 

I created an image of a photograph of a girl with blood and a bleak scene. I thought this would tell a story and since we are close to Halloween I figured lets go dark.

Deviant Art

So I'm excited. I finally got myself a new Deviant Art account : http://jess-morales.deviantart.com. I'm planning on putting a lot of effort into placing my sketches, finished illustrations and much more on this site. Since I'm new feel free to check back from time to time while I build up images for my gallery. I'm still very excited though. I plan on finishing an image this weekend and hopefully posting it up here.

Who watches the Birds?

Awesome, finally got an account for Tee Fury. For all those who don't know Tee Fury is a website where people can design graphics for t-shirts and if your t-shirt is chosen they'll sell your design. I submitted my fist design called Who watches the Birds? Its based off a watchmen t-shirt and mixed with Angry Birds. So instead of the iconic smiley face having the blood, its a beat up pig with bird poo. I think its kind of funny, and I love contrast in purple and white.  

Resting and Thinking of New Work to Start

Well I've graduated ITT-Tech with my Associates Degree, and won't be attending school again until January for my Bachelors. I've been taking 2-3 weeks off before I start doing some more work. I decided to get a deviantart account and post my newly designed and compiled artwork there. I will post my link for the deviantart account in a little while.

I decided to use this blog as a place where I can talk about opinions, and get constructive critiques on my art. I will post ideas, sketches, drafts, and show the complete process it took. I also plan on working on some film and short animation work as well.

The only thing I ask is if anyone wants to use my work, they must contact me letting me know so and give me credit for it.

So this is my first entry. I started this blog to be able to post my artwork but also to be able to speak about the obstacles I encounter and my solutions to them. Along with my artwork, I'll probably also post some thoughts I have and so forth.
